Sir: Miss Emily Green misrepresents me and my premature obituarising of the Inde- pendent dreadfully in her piece (`That's enough "Dream That Died" ', 2 Decem- ber). But, far more important — what hap- pened to my title? Of all the people she quoted, only the gangster Al Capone, an obscure poet, and I failed to get one at first mention. All the hacks had a handle, including such heroes of the Independent's dream as Mr David Montgomery and Mr Charles Wilson. During the dreamtime, newspapers only denied an honorific to professional sportsmen and convicted crim- inals. I'm not one of the former: should I sue?
