Messrs. Macmillan publish a handsome edition of The Works of

Shakespeare. It bears the name of the "Victoria Edition," and the Queen has accepted the dedication. The three volumes of which it consists contain the "Comedies," the 'Histories," the "Tragedies and Poems ;" and to the last is appended a new and very complete glossary. This extends to more than seventy pages, and will prac- tically serve many of the uses of a commentary. The text has been printed from the "Globe" edition, the passages which Messrs. Clarke and Wright thought still corrupt being obelised.
