Lawn mowings are never wasted by anyone who looks after

things in a garden. They have so many uses that one can hardly ever get enough of them, for they make good manure, serve to keep heat in a marrow or cucumber bed and are invaluable in the rose garden where they can be used as a mulch. Such mulchings of grass not only act as food when they ultimately decompose, but keep the roots of the trees moist in dry weather.
