The New Generation

Stit,—The central London office of Oxfam is spon- soring a scheme to involve business people between the ages of twenty-one and thirty-one. It has long been felt that it is not enough to ask people simply to give of their time and money in order to help the hungry. We offer to young people a chance to meet socially and to form groups of their own friends who will not raise money per se, but who will meet socially, once a week, and raise funds in the course of educating and enjoying themselves.

The New Generation will embrace a series of young social groups which will be completely self' running. They will be responsible for their own pub- licity and programming. Oxfam will give them ag the help they need to get started, by supplying lists of speakers, places to meet and so forth. We are looking for people who will be able to contribute in a very personal way of supplying ideas and ser- vice rather than monotonous work. If any of your readers are interested in this project, I would ask them to write to 'The New Generation,' Oxfam, 12 Crane 'Court, Fleet Street, EC4. A. i. B. luoin-c
