yet impossible for us to comment is the Savidge Inquiry. The evidence before the Court has aroused a vast amount of public interest during the week. The inquiry closed on Wednesday, and the Court has now to draw up its Report. Mr. Birkett; counsel for the police, represented that Scotland Yard had conducted indispensable researches with as much discretion as possible, and Sir Patrick Hastings, on the other side, represented that the police methods were an outrage on personal liberty.
