Moslem emotions

Sir: At the risk of provoking your editorial prerogative of declaring this correspondence closed, may I reply briefly to the irrepressible Mrs Silkin (Letters, 2 June)?

If Palestinian Arabs in 1947-8 had accepted, as Palestinian Jews did, the UN decision to partition the Holy Land into an Arab State and a Jewish State with an International Jerusalem in between, the present impasse would not exist.
