Q. An old friend of mine is finally getting married,

aged 37. He was best man at my wedding, and has asked me to be best man at his. The problem is that I now have two children under the age of four and my days of hell-raising are long over. My friend wants me to organise a hell-raising-style stag night, but killer quantities of alcohol would finish me off, or at least put me out of action for a few weeks. How can I avoid being forced to conspire in my own downfall? A. Arrange Skid Pan, Kart Track or FourWheel driving as the entertainment for this stag night This will allow you to offer 'hellraising' of a kind, but with the advantage that alcohol is forbidden both before and during the activity. The thrill of practising skid controls or hill-climbing and -descent should be adrenalising enough to satisfy any appetites for loutishness. You can time the sessions to finish around the time when most late-night bars and girlie clubs are either too far away or will be winding down for the night.
