On. Thursday Mr. Chamberlain made an excellent speech at a

meeting of the United British Women's Emigration Association, calling attention to the great need for developing the work of the Society. There would very soon be a great rush of men to South Africa, and it was most desirable that there should be a proportionate emigration of suitable women. We regret that on the present occasion we cannot deal at greater length with this most important movement, but we may add that it has our heartiest support, and that we sincerely trust that the Association will meet with the pecuniary sup- port it deserves.
