The Government is flinging away its luggage fast. The Lord

Chancellor announced on Monday that the Bankruptcy Bills were withdrawn ; the plan ?or absorbing the Telegraphs has been shelved ; and one, at least, if not both, of the India Bills will be abandoned. The fate of the Bribery Bill is still uncertain, but if we understand the tone of the House of Commons, that also will be thrown overboard, under pretence of want of time. The nouveaux riches do not like to be deprived of their weapon, and the extreme Radicals are not very anxious to pass a bill which may make the case for the ballot less plausible.
