••SPECTATOR"l SIR,—I have just read your interesting article in your issue of the 2nd inst. I must, however, take exception to the statement that the nightingale is not to be found west of the Severn. Many and many a time have I listened, delighted, W- its song at Newent under May Hill, at Symond's Yet on the Wye, and at Ross in Herefordshire, all of which places are west of the Severn. I have no doubt many of your readers. can corroborate this statement.—I am, Sir, &c.,
