Opposition to the Bankside project grows, or at any rate

marshals itself, steadily. The London County Council last Tuesday con- demned it by a vote, which would have been unanimous but for the opposition of the two Communist members of the Council. The list of names appended to the motion which is to appear on the House of Commons Order Paper appealing for reconsideration of the Government's decision lengthens daily, and Labour Members have been given to understand that there is no objection to their signing it. Since the project is to be discussed in the Lords next Tuesday and in the Commons next Friday some further light on the

Government's intentions should be forthcoming. TANUS.
