Impressionist

Sir: I derived great pleasure from Gerda Cohen's article on Picardy in your issue devoted to the elections in France (2 May). It was a wonderful evocation. It was like walking into a painting by Sisley, who painted near my home in France. Alas there are some errors in the French expressions used. One would not use them in public, certainly not in a political meeting.
