Our Darlings. Edited by Dr. Barnard°. (J. F. Shaw.)—This "Children's

Treasury of Pictures and Stories" is always welcome, both for its own sake, for it is full of entertainment and instruc- tion, and also for that of its editor, whose good work in rescuing waifs and strays is worthy of all encouragement, direct and indirect, that can be given it. The editor does not trouble his young readers too much with the tales of sorrow and suffering that he might tell them, if he would; but he reminds them of what they can do to help his "big family," as he calls it. There are serial stories, narratives of adventure, and all the varieties that go to make up a good children's magazine.
