In the series of "Science Talks to Young Thinkers" (Oliphant,

Anderson, and Ferrier), we have Nature's Story, by H. Farquhar, B.D. Mr. Farquhar discourses about flowers, with special refer- ence to their reproduction and preservation, and about creatures of the earth, the water, and the air. He goes back to past periods, as to the two Ice Ages. And he touches many miscellaneous sub- jects, well chosen, it would seem, out of the vast variety which this line of study suggests.
