The title of Paris and London in 1815, by Mr.

P. R. Broemel (Murray and Co. 5s.) is not unattractive and the illustrations from old prints are interesting. But the author takes undue advantage of his sub-title, " With Excursions into other Periods and Places," and indulges in the most exasperating digressions, so that the book serves no purpose except as a medley of anecdotes.
