Entertaining and as apparently omniscient as ever, Mr. Connolly reviewed two books on the ancient world in last Sunday's Times. In his com- ments on J. M. C. Toynbee's Art in Britain under the Romans he four times referred to 'Mr.' Toynbee. One hopes the distinguished Laurence Professor Emerita of Classical Archeology at Cambridge, Miss Jocelyn Toynbee, will not be too discomfited.
