suffered severely from hurricanes about the end of July and the beginning of August. Twenty-three merchant-vessels, of various sizes, were wrecked off Barbadoes on the 26th of July ; and thirty-six more on the coa-t of St. Thomas's on the the 2d of August, not one of them Eugli-h. About 100 seamen were drowned.
