The latest accounts from Constantinople, received by the Vienna papers

of yesterday, announce that "the Turkish Embassy has received advices warranting the conclusion that the combined fleets have now entered the Black Sea, to prevent further hostilities." From Semlin, Ilth December, we have this statement—" Official ad- vices, received at Belgrade, state that the Russians have attacked the Turkish intrenchments at Yalafat."

The British merchant-vessel Phcebe has been fired upon and searched by the Russians near Trebiaond. The Austrian Carreepondenz, in a private despatch, states that Persia has declared war against England. A noted Croatian, Dr. Louis Gaj, has been arrested at Agram by the Austrian authorities. He is suspected of a conspiracy to set Prince Mi- losch on the Servian throne.

The Piedmontese elections have given a large majority, more than two-thirds, to the Government ; the minority divided between Republi- cans and Retrogrades. All the Ministers have been returned. Thus the lesion of the leaders of the Radical and Priestly parties has failed, not only in securing a strong opposition, but in carrying the people with them. In proof of this, it is mentioned that Brofferio, the Radical leader, received only 19 votes.

The 'Spanish Government has dismissed from their appointments several Senators who voted against Ministers in the decisive division of the 9th instant Among them are Jose de Concha, Director-General of Cavalry, and Ros de Olano, Director-General of Military Health.
