SIR,—..Your enlightened correspondents, Professor Clifford and "A., "have been poking their fun at the Bishop who regarded the Authorised Version as the Holy Original.

it is amusing to notice that your enlightened correspondents have fallen into a precisely similar mistake, and have assumed that our Lord spoke Greek ! Unless they are under this impression, their quotations from the Greek to prove that our Lord's words were not "short" are evidently beside the point. We all know that Bishops are unenlightened, but what is our poor nineteenth century to do, if it should discover that even its materialistic professors are not omniscient ?—I am, Sir, &c., J. E. S.
