AID FOR THE VOLUNTEERS.

SIR, It was suggested—I think in your paper—that a man unable himself to take part in the war might meet the expenses in whole or in part of one anxious to volunteer, but without sufficient means. How are these men to be brought in contact, and what amount would be required P—I am, Sir [If Parish Enlistment Committees were organised, as we have suggested in another column, there would be no diffi- culty in bringing together men like our ()correspondent and the would-be soldiers. The Enlistment Committees would act as middlemen.—ED. Spectator.]
