DEATHS.

On the 19th October, killed in a severe engagement with the Ghilsiea, between Cabul and Jellalabad. in Afghanistan, Lieutenant EDWARD KUM, of her Majesty's Thirteenth Light Infantry, fourth son of the Hon. and Rev. Richard Fitzgerald King; in his 24th year.

On the 7th January, at Pan, Basses Pyrenees, the Viscountess DEIERHUBST.

On the 8th, at Shalston, Backs, Mrs. MARY PUREFOY Jraversz, Relict of the late Rey. G. H. J. P. Jervoise; in her 90th year. On the 8th, at Bath, the Dowager Lady Lirsoirrow, Widow of the late General Sir Baldwin Leighton. Bart. On the 9th, at Falmouth, J. M. Cuarmer, Esq., M.D., eldest son of the late William, Calvert, Esq., cf. Greta Bank, Cumberland ; iu his 40th year.

Ou the 9th, Jona CALvzwr. M.D., and member of most of the philosophic and learned societies of Europe; in his 40th year.

On the 11th, at his residence, Monut Campbell, Leitrim, Admiral Sir Jesus ROWLEY. On the 11th, at Cowes, G,.neral MAK:WARING; in his 80th year.

On the 11th. at Mistley Hall, Essex, JOHN DICKENSON, En., of Birch Hall, Lan- cashire. and Devonshire. Place, Loudon ; in his 87th year.

On the 11th, at her residence. Chapel House, Grove Eud, St. John's Wood, Miss. Lonna GALLINI, youngest daughter of the late Sir John Gallia', and one of the pious and munificent fouudresses of Our Lady a Church, St. John's Wood ; iu her 75th year. At Jarvistou, Old House, %%raciest him( ; in his 90th year. He had lived under the family of that estate for upwards of seventy years. As an instance of longevity among the dependents of the same property, it is stated that the combined ages of six individuals, all residing within a mile of each other, and alive within the lust three years, amounts to five huudred and thirty-one years,-viz. Christiana Cullen, 100; Margaret Hill, 91 (still alive); William Meek, 90; Janet Walker, his wife, 86 (still alive); Robert Vallcuce, 86; and Jane Frame, 84. At Balgillo, WILLIAM STIVEN. Esq.; in his 93d year. Mr. Stiven was the oldest farmer in Forfarshire, and had been a tenant of Lord Douglas for seventy-three years. At Brompton, near Northallerton, Mr. ROBERT SMITH iu his 93d year. He had a very retentive memory. and delighted to relate to the wondering villagers his adven- tures in the German wars, uuder Prince Ferdinand : he was present with his father in tut e Twelfth Regiment of Foot, at the battle of Minden, iu 1759.
