The Messager of Wednesday night published the following.tele- graphic despatch-

" Tax SUB-PREFECT OF BAYONNE TO THE MINISTER OF THE INTERIOR.

•• Madrid. 10th July.

"The two Chambers met today for the purpose of deciding the Guardian- ship question. Out of 239 Deputies and Senators present, 203 declared the Guardianship vacant; and M. Arguelles having been elected by 180 votes, was proclaimed Guardian to the Queen and the Infanta, her sister. There were 31 blank tickets, and 28 votes lost."

In a second edition, the Morning Post has the following announce- ments—

" Madrid, 10th July.

"The Spanish Government grants to England, for a sum of 60,0001., two small islands on the Guinea coast, namely, Fernando Po and .Angos; as they were useless to Spain and there was not even a garrison. "The bearer of the despatches of this day takes three millions of rea1s (30,0001.) for the payment of the British Legicn. "On the 7th instant, at Barcelona, the operatives dug up paving-stones and erected barricades to stop a sale of confiscated merchandise. Order was restored by the Captain-General and the Municipality giving up the proposed auction."
