At a meeting of City electors yesterday, in the Commercial

Hall, Mr. Roebuck appeared as an effective supporter of Lord John Russell. Mr. Roebuck did not waive his own objections on particular points of Lord John's conduct; but took a broad view of the Premier's position as an upholder of opinions in the main Liberal—certainly more so than the opinions of the Tory candidates; and, with generous good taste, he showed how the electors ought to decide on those broad grounds.
