Lora John Manners presented himself before the electors of Liverpool

yesterday. He went on 'Change in the morning, and afterwards addressed the electors. He told them frankly and plainly that his political sympathies are with Lord Stanley and Lord George Bentinek, "because I believe that they perceive the real wants of the people of England at this time; because I know that they are prepared to ad- vocate that policy which places the social, moral, and religious welfare of the peo- ple, as a consideration in advance, in the van of all politics; because I know they dissmt from and are opposed to that system of politics which would leave every- thing to the events of the hour or the circumstances of the times."
