The Falklands

Sir: The arrogance of the Foreign Office is Positively breath-taking!

After its atrocious advice on the possibili- ty of Argentine invasion of the Falklands it is now reported that, before the in- vestigators have had a chance to inspect them, papers and memoranda relevant to the case have been destroyed.

The actions of President Nixon and his aides at the time of Watergate seem Positively restrained and even wholesome by comparison.

How long is this government within a government going to be allowed to get away with it? It is about time that the Foreign Of- fice itself was shredded rather than the memoranda which might embarrass it!
