A very seasonable publication for this year, in view of

the crowds which the Coronation will certainly attract, is London and its Environs : Handbook for Travellers. By Karl Baedeker. (T. Fisher Unwin. 6e. net.) Of course this is not a new book; London has not been left so long without a handbook. On the contrary, it is a sixteenth edition, carefully revised and brought up to date. It is interesting to note, as an indication of popular favour, that Switzerland heads the list with a "twenty-third" edition. Paris and The Mute come next with "seventeen" each, and London fol- lows, Northern Germany and Central Italy (with Rome) showing

fifteen.
