Smith. (T. Fisher Unwin. 5s. net.) Mr. Smith's small book is an illustrated glossary showing architectural samples whereby the amateur may label and date details of mediaeval building. Though the drawings are not very sympathetic and the architectural ensemble or whole is neglected for the consideration of its parts, the book will no doubt be useful as " an elementary handbook designed as an introduction to the study of this fascinating subject," which is its avowed aim.
