The Ministry of Shipping has published the final figures of

the Allied losses of tonnage during the war. They are as follows :— reat Britain .. 7,638,020

France .. 696,845 Itaiy 74.2,365

Japan , . 120,176 United States 341,512 Thus the British leases were four times as great as those of all the rest of the Allies. We do not yet know how German tonnage is to be allocated among the Allies, but if the allocation is to be in proportion to losses the amount Great Britain will receive will be much larger than we have hitherto been led to expect.
