a pathetic tale, the story of what a good woman may do in a very brief span of life. Not the least part of what Phyllis Hope effects is the turning to righteousness of Raymond Anstruther. This young man's struggles towards the light, struggles against many opposing influences, are effectively told. Altogether this is a book which should be read with much profit.
