Three C'enturies of Prices of Wheat, Flour, and Bread. By

John Kirkland. (National Bakery School, Borough Polytechnic, S.E. 3s.)—This pamphlet has been carefully compiled, and will be useful for reference. Mr. Kirkland's comparison of the prices of u heat during the Napoleonic Wars and in the present war is instructive. Between 1800 and 1818 the average price fluctuated between 80s. and 120s., but the highest price for wheat recently sold by "the Wheat Commission has been 87s. ad., as against 32s. in the summer of 1014, end English wheat last spring touched 90s. The chapter reviewing the course of the market during the war is of much interest. •
