Rumanian violinist

Sir: May I appeal for help, through your columns, for a very talented young Ruma- nian violinist, who is currently stranded in London with a place on the Advanced Solo Studies course at the Guildhall School of Music, but no funding for the tuition fees? He has spent all his savings on coming to England, and if he has to return im- mediately to Rumania it will be many years before he can afford to come here again. The fee for this one-year course is just over £4,000. He has approached the Mihai Eminescu Trust for help, but our funds are very limited and are devoted mainly to projects inside Rumania. If your readers know of any trusts, foundations or charities which might be able to assist, I should be very grateful if they would contact me.
