STEADS-ENGINES IN CORNWALL.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE SPECTATOR.

Sts,—The annexe.d statement, of duty performed by some of the principal Cornish steam-engines, in drawing water from the mines,.will excite attention, and lead to inquiry, why steam-engines out of the county do not do equal duty. I am not aware uf any publication which dii ects the attention of scientific men to the high state of steam-engines in this county.
