OF THE "SPEOTAT0R1 SIR,—My attention has been called to an article in your last issue, in which you comment on a paper read by me at the Church Con- gress, bearing on the question of the admission of the Laity into Convocation, and in which you speak as if I were the author of it. I beg to say that the paper in question was not written by me, but by my friend Canon Trevor, who was unavoidably absent, and that I was merely his mouthpiece on the oceasion.—I am, Sir, &c., [The reports in the Times and Standard (we consulted both) gave no notice of the fact of which our correspondent informs us, and we regret not to have given Canon Trevor the full credit (or the reverse) of his strange paper.—En.
