A scheme was proposed 'before the Council by an American

Methodist for starting a grand paper, better than any secular paper, and more attractive, but devoted to the interests of Methodism. The usual difficulty in the way of such papers is, that nobodyfiefin be found to edit them suffi- ciently well, but this difficulty, the proposer said, could not exist with Methodism. Its resources are endless, and "money will buy any amount of machinery and brains." Possibly, but is it for a Church to "buy brains," possibly, unbelieving brains, to spread its doctrines ?
