The intelligence from the Famine districts presents few new points,

except that the Daily News' correspondent has reported the completion of the Railway to Durbungah, a splendidly rapid bit of work, which will save the district, and reflects the greatest credit on Sir R. Temple's energy ; that the number of persons On the works has risen to 1,100,000, and that Sir R. Temple now estimates that in Patna, Bhaghulpore, and Rajshaye 3,432,000 may require relief. Our own correspondent, at first entirely official, seems seriously alarmed, and the Viceroy deplores the gradual drying-up of the wells, caused, no doubt, by the deficient rain- fall ef last year. There is reason to believe that the famine in Nepaul

is reaching a dreadful height, the people beginning to emigrate in thonaands ; but Nepaul, though we inuet bstip her, is not within the range of Indian moral responsibility. We do not appoint,. and do not claim to remove, her rulers.
