SIR,—Sortes Vergiticrnae are out of fashion. But might not Prayer Book revisers profit by glancing at the third Georgic? There they would find these lines :—

• "Non tamen ulla magis praesens fortnna laborum est, Quam si quis ferro potnit rescinder° summum Ulceris Oa ; alit= vititun vivitqae tegendo, Dam medicas adhibare mantis ad vulnera pastor Abnegat et meliora dens aedet omina poseens."

The poet would suggest to them that, while leaving the Creed in the Prayer Book, they should excise the rubric.—I am,
