The Keeper's Partridge Book and Register. By J. A. Allen.

(Charles Knight. 1s)—Partridge preservation in many places is a different thing from what it used to be. The so-called Easton system, by which eggs are taken one by one from the nest as they are laid, and returned to the nest as they are "chipping," for the partridge to hatch out, has made a keeper's work on a partridge beat quite a complicated business. To simplify it, Mr. J. A. Allen has published this handy little notebook, ruled with dates, places, details of nests and eggs, which any keeper can understand and fill in. It is a good shape for a keeper's pocket.
