RADIUM AND CANCER. --Dr. Alexander Fleck, 26 Manor House Road, Newcastle-on-Tyne, writes: The paragraph in the "News of the Week" columns of the current Spectator dealing with the use of radium at the Middlesex Hospital calls for a note of protest and of comment. Dr. Burrows has already pointed out in the columns of the Manchester Guardian that the statement of the chairman of the Court of Governors did not reveal any new method. The method in fact has been used in many places during the past decade—e.g., by Dr. Stevenson in Dublin, by Dr. Burrows in Manchester and by the writer on behalf of :the Glasgow Radium Commit tee. so long ago as 1914.
