Mr. C. E. M. Joad has written the first of

the New Party Broadcasts, entitled The Case for the New Party (1 Great George Street, S.W. 1. 3d.). He stresses the point that the New Party " has come into being not to introduce Utopia, but to prevent collapse," that the Mosley policy is an emer- gency policy, based on a real appreciation of the economic position in England to-day. Mr. Joad does not say anything which was not dealt with in A National Policy, but as an expert journalist with a vivid pen he succeeds in underlining a number of important points contained in the policy.
