- GOLD PRODUCTION. .

In the Annual Report of the Union Corporation some very interesting figures are given of the world's gold output. It is shown that the total output from the Transvaal for 1930 was £45,500,000, while for the whole' British Empire the pro- duction was £62,000,000. For the United States the produc- tion totalled £8,700,000, for 'Mexico £2,800,000 and for the remainder of the world S12;000,000. It be seen, therefore, that the total world output for the year was £85,500,000, of which the British Empire's proportion was 72.6 per cent.
