QUIET MARKETS. THE reassembling of Parliament is seldom regarded as a bull point for the Stock Market/. Aniong other things, it means that the probability is increased- of the re-entry of domestics political controversies, while on the present occasion the meeting of Parliament serves as an unpleasant reminder of the proximity of the Budget. Considering the paucity of busi- ness, prices have been fairly well held, especially in tbti gilt-edged section, but, in the absence of any signs of a material improvement in trade, Home Rails and some other Home Industrial concerns remain the dullest section of the House. In the. Speculative Markets the principal feature has been the activity and strength of South African Gold Mining shares.
