Don PEDRO has formally demanded from the British Government the

recognition of the Queen DONNA MARIA. Lord PALMERSTON, it is said, is anxious to recognize, but the opinion of the Great Law Officers of the Crown is not favourable.

Several complaints have reached Lord PALMERSTON of the conduct of Mr. CRISPIN, the British Consul at Oporto. His conduct is under inquiry.
