Sir: I am completing a rather discursive and anecdotal history of the London Lib- rary to coincide with its 150th anniversary in 1991.

I would be extremely grateful to any of your readers who might be prepared to send me anything they have in the way of personal reminiscences — comic, dramatic or purely literary — of the Library, or any illuminating references to it they may have come across in the course of their reading, either in published or unpublished work.

I will of course return any manuscripts or other valuable material.
