The new Judicature Act appears to be working well in

one respect at least. The Courts are equal to their work. It was reported on Saturday that there were no longer any arrears in any of the Courts except the Appeal Court, and the Judges were fairly abreast of their work. Indeed, we have heard on eminent authority that next year the Courts will have too little to do. There is, however, no dread of that. Nothing fosters litigation like expeditious, and therefore tolerably cheap justice.
