The Village Church. By the Rev. P. H. Ditohfield. (Methuen

and Co. bs. net.)—Mr. Ditchfield is not a deep writer upon his subject, but a very pleasant and discursive one. His is just the kind of book that will open the eyes of a blind tourist, or even dweller in a country village, to the beauties and anti- quarian delights of the innumerable ancient churches of this country, and will compel him to take an understanding interest. Here his main themes are architecture, bells, glass, furniture, and monuments. Ho gives pictures of objects of particular value in illustration of his chapters.
