Personality and Reality. By Dr. J. E. Turner, Reader in

Philosophy in the University of Liverpool. (Allen and Unwin. 7s. 6d.)—The aim of this book is "to prove the real existence of a supreme self in the universe." But it is not in any sense a theological work, for the author is not primarily concerned with the question whether this Self should further be regarded as Divine, or whether it should be named " God " or any equivalent appellation. The book is a philosophical argument based on the modern scientific ideas of a distinguished scholar : it leads to an interesting and perhaps rather unexpected conclusion.
