The Assessed Taxes Amendment Bill, sent from the Commons, has received the Royal Assent. The Lord Chancellor has brought in a Bill on the subject of Testamentary Jurisdiction. A Select Committee to inquire into the working of the National System of Education in Ireland has been appointed, on the motion of Lord Eglinton. Bills were brought in by the Duke of Newcastle on Irish sub- jects,—the Law of Landlord and Tenant; Powers of Leasing ; and Tenants' Im- provements Compensation.
