MR. LLEWELYN DAVIES AND DISESTABLISH- MENT.

[To THE EDITOR OF THE "SPECTATOR."] SIR,—Mr. Llewelyn Davies says :—" For the English people to disestablish the Church would be to throw away one of the noblest and most valued birthrights of the nation." I ask him for proof of this formidable statement. Is he prepared to show that the Irish people deteriorated in consequence of the Irish Church Act ? The fact is a great deal of nonsense is spoken and written in England in connection with the Disestablishment question.—I am, Sir, &c., SINCLAIR CAROLIN.
