your interesting article in to-day's Spectator, entitled "Where to Go for the Summer Holidays," in speaking of Swiss golf clubs, you say that" the oldest established is the Engadine, an eighteen-hole course started in 1898." It may interest you to know that in 1894 an eighteen-hole course was in existence at Samaden, between the Pontresina road and the Bernina- back It had been started the year before, or earlier, by an Irish family, the Saundersons. Certainly I played in a com- petition there in August, 1894. In the following year I played
