A very small book, School Prayers, by Mr. J. B.

Goodliffe (Student Christian Movement, 2s. 6d.), must emphatically be commended to the attention of head-masters and head- mistresses. It is a set of original petitions rising free from theological limitations, catching a little the spirit of Rabindranath Tagore, or suggestive of some of the prayers in Acts of Devotion (S.P.C.K.) to be seen in certain London churches and elsewhere. Interpolated sparingly among older prayers these new prayers should not savour of " preciousness."

Used alone they certainly will. Focus.
